Membership Profile

Membership in Amplify Her® Leadership Network is an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the success of Amplify Her® Foundation. Members have a wide variety of personal and professional experiences. In our process, we are seeking women with the following qualifications:

  • Professional experience with significant leadership accomplishments in STEM, law, real estate, healthcare, or in other related fields where there is a historical underrepresentation of women.

  • Lived-experience or professional experience in community organizing, policy/advocacy, direct service related to issues of gender and economic justice.

  • Knowledge of the issues and challenges facing under-invested women and girls in New York City; and strategies to advance gender, racial and economic justice. 

  • A commitment to and understanding of Amplify Her® Foundation’s programmatic work and mission.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including a commitment to healthy communication, relationship-building, and gaining consensus among diverse individuals.

  • An ability to commit the time required to fulfill the responsibilities described.



OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Amplify Her® Leadership Network members will actively participate in Amplify Her® Foundation’s grant review process. Members evaluate proposals from applicant organization, lead in-person site visits, and make funding recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Foundation. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize the Foundation’s evaluation rubric to review up to 2 grant proposals

  • Attend and actively participate in 2 in-person site visits

  • Make a formal funding recommendation to the Board of Directors of the Foundation  

  • Provide input, and advise on the key focus areas of the Amplify Her® Foundation

Time Commitment:

Member engagement and active participation is essential to the success of Amplify Her® Leadership Network. We expect members to make reasonable efforts to attend all of the sessions. The time commitment is approximately 2 hours per month.

  • Q1 - Applications Reviewed, Interviews Conducted

  • Q2 - Orientation and Networking Events

  • Q3 - Proposal Review and Site Visits

  • Q4 - Funding Recommendations and GlassBreaker Event

Share but Not Solicit Policy

  • In order to maintain the focus and integrity of Amplify Her Leadership Network, we have adopted a Share but Not Solicit policy. Leadership Network members are encouraged to share their passions, interests, and organizational affiliations in a collaborative environment. However, members are asked to refrain from any direct solicitation for support of organizations, events, or initiatives with which Amplify Her Foundation does not already have an established funding relationship.

  • Under this policy, Amplify Her Foundation will not consider funding applications from organizations in which Leadership Network members hold a leadership or fundraising role unless a pre-existing funding relationship is in place. This approach allows us to keep our Network mission-driven and dedicated to supporting a shared vision for advancing women’s leadership and impact.
